Chandragupt Maurya, also known as Chandragupta was born in 340 BCE and ruled from 320-298 BCE and died in 290 BCE, was the founder of Maurya Empire. Chandrapupta succeeded in bringing together most of the Indian Subcontinent. As a result, he is considered to be the first unifier of India and its first genuine emperior.
