His older brother, Arthur, had died on 2nd April 1502, aged 15.

The eldest son, and Henry's older brother, Prince Arthur, died soon after he married Katerine of Aragon, he was said to be very sick. Many believed that the eldest son died of "the sweat". Henry then became next in line to be King.
