Reportedly this type of incident occurred to some Southerners when they returned home from the US Civil War. Confederates were Americans too.
There was no treaty, the US simply wanted their POWs returned and then redeployed back to the US (after they were returned).

The US and North Vietnam. US jets bombed the north; the north shot them down. (Back and forth; back and forth).
AnswerThe French tryed to get back their colony which they lost in 1940 because of Germany. When the French got ther communist was spreading at the north of Vietnam, resulting in there return they had a battle at Dien Bien Phu in May 1954. The French lost the battle and went back home. Communist was spreding fast and the Americans decided to step in and take control of the spreading communists.

Vietnam
the Americans and the communists "agreed" to split Vietnam and cut it into north and south divisions, however when the US forces evacuated back to the mainland the vietmanese went back on their work and invaded south Vietnam and made it communist. America was too unstable after internal struggles and questioning (Kent State College shootings, Jackson state college shootings, minority approval of the war, etc.) to try and take it back. The main reason for instability in America was the Tet offensive. the Americans had a good grip on the situation, but after a huge uprising from the Tet offensive the views shifted. the Americans actually defended well and held up well against the tet offensive, but the idea of another, stronger movement scared them. This was a turning point in the war. So technically, it was a draw. but Vietnam is in communist control due to the communists going back on their word.

The dogs who were utilized in Vietnam were left behind when their handlers were ordered back to the states in 1973.
Americans at home were very indifferent and sometimes opposed to the war. Overall, it was unpopular. Soldiers would come back to little to no celebration, and were sometimes treated with disrespect.
I was not in Vietnam, still, I have heard a number of men talk about it. Unlike the solders from World War 2, none of the Vietnam Veterans considered the Vietnam War worth fighting. Many were totally upset with the incompetence with the people back at the Pentagon. Many solders in the field despised the situation. Americans had to fight because South Vietnamese would not. The fighting was pointless. The solders knew either they could stay and die forever or they could get out and watch South Vietnam fall.
How about thank you.
This is how u say thank you for getting back in french:''Je vous remercie pour se remettre''.
It was not a coalition. It was First the French who wanted it back as their colony. They left in 1954. The US then went in to prevent the "Domino Theory" from occurring. So first the French than the Americans.
