Mary Elitch Long (1856-1936) was the only woman in the world, back then, running an amusement park! She was the founder of Denver's Elitch Gardens. She made an apple orchard into Elitch's Zoological Gardens (Denver's first zoo) and stocked it with exotic animals, orchards, and gardens.
