Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was not disliked in Mecca (Makkah). It is the opposite. He was called by Meccas as the honest and the truthful and was well respected. Only, after being assigned by God to call people to Islam per God revelation of Quran to him, the disbelievers were against him fearing to lose their powers and authorities especially that Islam was against racism and discrimination based on colors, richness, genders, and/or cultures.
