Modern East Germany was Middle Germany in the past. During WWII all the borders of Poland moved westwards. So you can say that some parts of Poland were formally East Germany, but this is history. Modern East Germany and Poland are different things.
East Germany was state capitalist, not Communist. Communism means no state, no classes, no money, no borders, no poverty.
No. Germany was reunited in 1990. Since then vast sums of money have been invested in former East Germany and this has done much to overcome differences in living standards between the former East and West Germany. Actually Germany will be divided forever, because East Germany is not Deutschland. It's Wendland, territory of polabian slavs and ancestors of russians. East Germany was betrayed in 1990 and forcefully annexed to fascistic West Germany. Level of life in East Germany (DDR) wasn't so bad comparing to BRD. People in DDR always had job, while in BRD unemployment prospered in large scale.
The reunification of East and West Germany in 1990 cost so much, it almost bankrupted the country.
It's to the east of Canada so from NY it's northeast
Depends what part of Germany... West or East? During ww2, Romania was a communist country, being under the Pact of Warsaw, so it was for EAST GERMANY and against WEST GERMANY
west Germany, east Germany and sukus medikus The countries who set up the Berlin walls were the Allies(France, Britain and USA) and the So Viet union(as West Germany was Allies's and East Germany was So Viet union's back at the time).
It is not a bad place to live but is so expensive that few people can afford to live there.
In 1990, West Germany, a member of what is now the European Union, reunited with East Germany, which was not a member. Together they became Germany and are part of the European Union. You could say the East Germany joined, but East Germany did not exist when re-unification occurred. So there was no addition to the membership as such. 12 countries were members before the re-unification, and after the re-unification of Germany, there were still 12 countries. All that happened was that the structure of one member changed, and became known as Germany. In 1990, West Germany, a member of what is now the European Union, reunited with East Germany, which was not a member. Berlin was the capital of Germany before ww2, after the war Germany was separated in 2 parts eg; East Germany(DDR) and West Germany (BRD) so now West Germany picked Bonn to be the capital. that left the east to Berlin, after the wall came down in 1989, Germany was reunited and Berlin became the capital once again.
Germany straddles the northeastern corner of France, so it could be said to be both north and east of France.
