This period is also refer to as the roaring 20s. America became less homogeneous (there were many immigrants coming from Asia and Europe). Many of the Anglo Saxons felt that their lives were being threatened because these immigrants took over many of their careers. The 1920s is also the time where prohibition of alcohol occurred. The churches were ambivalent with science (because Charles Darwin's theory appeared to be more probable) and many of the women became less conservative.
