The battle of Midway was a turning point in the war with Japan because the attack on Midway was to create a protective wall of Pacific islands for Japaneese mainland which was a failed attempy along with the attack on Paupa New Guinea

Because Japan could not replace those experienced combat airmen (Torpedo bomber, Dive bomber, and fighter pilots/aircrewmen), nor those experienced flight deck crewmen aboard those carriers in time to continue the war.
