The national language of Indonesia is the Indonesian language, which is Malay language. But ethnic Malays are only a big but minority population in Indonesia. Other melting pot cultures that have contributed to Indonesian culture are Chinese, Indian, Arab, Hindu, Javanese and Balinese culture. Especially Balinese culture which is very distinct from the usualy Malay background of most Indonesians. Don't forget that Indonesia is one of Southeast Asia's most diverse and indegenous countries.
