The Battle of Saratoga was the turning point in the Revolutionary War because when the French saw the Continental Army had won, they finally decided to join the soon to be Americans. When the French joined, they brought with them much needed supplies such as, soldiers, bullets, guns, etc. The French didn't just join to help the Continental Army though, they joined to take down their longtime enemy, Britain, too. However, the conflicts between the French and British are a whole different topic.
