The Sino-Americans were so culturally different (not that that is a bad thing) that internment camps were established during WWII.
Then came Senator Joseph McCarthy's "Red Menace" scourge of the 1950s that caused many loyal Americans to be listed as Communists.
Lucille Ball was one- the rumor was that she was "as red as her head"(!)
So I am at a loss to decipher exactly WHICH group of Americans -and in which country- you refer to in your question.
