There has to be device or a mechanism to start and stop a motor. hence a starter is needed. There are many different ways to start a motor. Considering AC Motor - It could be DOL, Star-Delta starters, which are age old and conventional. Star Delta starter starter is for higher rating motors, example over 7.5 kw, depending upon type of load.
There are more advanced starters like Soft starters and Drives also.
Er... a Starter Motor?
No, you cannot use a starter rated for a 5 hp motor with a 7.5 hp motor. The starter needs to be matched to the motor's horsepower rating to ensure proper protection and operation. Using an undersized starter can lead to overheating and premature failure of the motor. It is recommended to use a starter specifically designed for a 7.5 hp motor.
Voltage flow into a starter motor, never out of it. Use the voltmeter to measure the voltage at the starter motor before starting to crank and then whilst it is cranking. (Before cranking, the voltage appears across the starter motor relay only.)
Feedback to a control circuit that the motor starter has closed or opened its contacts as commanded.
Brass bushings inside the electric starter motor.
A direct line starter is a simple motor starter used to power electric machines. It works by coupling the motor to the power supply directly at full function.
the starter motor is behind the intake manifold. after you take the main intake shield, there is another shield that covers the starter motor. remove the starter shield and you can find the motor. its a little hard that other cars i used to have but it can be worked on. just need a little more patience.
The starter motor is at the rear of the engine.
The starter motor is at the rear of the engine.
You can find the starter on the right hand side of the motor. The starter will be near the back of the motor. You can follow the positive battery cable to the starter.
