Colonial wells were important to daily life. Providing the water nessisary to sustain life of the agriculture, hydrate the people and aid in the production of goods (blacksmith, potter, and others.) In addition, hygiene was very important as back then medicine was not at an advanced level. The cleaner people were, the less disease and other issues relating to poor hygiene were.
