The Articles of Confederation were eliminated and replaced by the US Constitution. The additions added to the US Constitution which were absent within the Articles of Confederation include consenting powers, the type of national government, the division of powers in the national government, the mode of representation in the national government, power of congress, national government revenue raising, enforcement of Federal Laws, judiciary and resolution of cases and conflicts, prohibitions of congress, prohibitions and requirements of the states, and amendment capabilities.

The United States government, in concept, has remained the same for the past 240 years. The reason why we adopted the United States Constitution as our supreme law, and not the AOC, was the Articles of Confederation were weak, plain and simple.

The president had virtually no power, the state's all used their own form of currency which didn't help with interstate commerce, and trade with nations was very chaotic, New York would ask France for goods when France would think that the United States as a whole wanted something.

The Articles of Confederation were dropped in the Second Continental Congress where the US Constitution was adopted which gave the federal government more power over the states.
