∙ 11y agoThe Vietcong was not necessarily effective, in fact knowing that they could not face the US directly on in battle, they used guerrilla tactics to attack. They used the environment that they so well knew, hide in plain sight tactics, unexploded ordnance, and sabotage to successfully uproot the US. They knew they wouldn't win. So they resolved to make the war so costly that the US would be forced to back out, and they did exactly that.
