Africa
Lol @ humanities homework =]
The Portuguese planted the first maritime colonies in Africa. The Dutch planted the first settled colonies in Africa. A maritime colony is a port city and some surrounding territory, but it is not terribly expansive. (Hong Kong until 1999 would be a good example.) A settled colony is a more typical colony type of which the 13 colonies that became the United States would be a good example.
It was first made in Africa.
They were made by the year 1653.
There were no slaves in Jamestown in 1607. The first slave into the colonies was in 1619.
Spanish Morocco and Spanish Sahara were Spanish colonies in Africa.
England, England Colonies, and Africa
There are no more colonies in Africa. The last one (Southern Rhodesia) became independent from the United Kingdom in 1980. The nation that had the largest colonies in terms of land mass was France.
European Colonies
In some societies, individuals who broke laws could be sentenced to indentured servitude or forced labor as a form of punishment. This practice was common in ancient civilizations such as Rome, where criminals and debtors could be enslaved to repay their debts or serve their sentence. Additionally, in colonial America, indentured servants and convicts were sometimes treated similarly to slaves, although they were technically not considered property like slaves were.
