Pimples turn white for certain reasons. Usually, when using products it means its working.
In a certain cause they turn white when you have to pop them. First, the oil has stop building up and turned into a secular circle which is common known as a bubble. Next, you need to pop the bubble so it won't get bigger. Last, you pop it and the oil spreads again.
People can get a kind of skin cancer from this. Recently, this only happens with kids. Kids do need to spread with witch hazel so the surface will clear up.

∙ 16y agoThese are usually called, 'Whiteheads' and are common (generally caused from oily skin or hormonal changes in both men and women from teens up.) Don't squeeze them, but get something like flesh colored Clearasil to dry it up.
