Why when i click on a video does it not show up in quicktime or my video program?

Depending on what format your video is, quicktime may not be able to play it. I like VLC for a video player. It plays every video format I've ever tried. It's free to download. This could also be because of the type of file it is, as mentioned before. If your computer doesn't recognize the type of file (.wmv, .mov, etc.), it will either try to open it in a program it thinks is best, or it will ask you what you want to open it in. Sometimes it is just a bad file, and cannot be played at all, even with the correct player for the extension. Also, look at the extension (.mov, .wmv, etc.). '.mov' (a common video file extension appearing after the file name) is able to be played in QuickTime, and .wmv (another common file extension) is able to be played in Windows Media Player. Look at the extension and find the corresponding Video Player that plays that extension or file type. As mentioned before, it might just be a bad file, and needs to either be redone, or redownloaded, depending on where you got it from.
