It may have to do with the locked steering feature of your car. Try turning the wheel one way or the other while you turn the ignition.

I have a 1998 F150 that will not start without jumping off the solenoid. We've replace the solenoid itself and the iginition switch in the steering column so far. Any other suggestions?
Check to see if it has any fuseable links. They may be within 8 inches of the battery? Or, near the firewall? Good luck.
