Could be that the air/fuel mixture is set too lean. Needs adjustment.

How long must you keep the choke pulled for in car?

Until the engine will run without the choke being pulled.

What happen when you run the motorcycle with the choke on?

Nothing realy.. with the choke on the engine receives more fuel making it easier to run with a cold motor. after starting the engine, wait about two minutes before turning it off.

My Honda Shadow 600 VLX doesn't keep an idle. I have to keep the choke pulled for starting and running the engine. Can't drive as any throttle kills it. New battery. What to do?

You need to take you car to a mechanic. It is obvious you do not know what you are doing. Your battery is in the electrical system. Your choke is in the fuel system. They are separate. It is normal to pull out your choke to start your engine. It is not normal to have your choke out to run your engine. As soon as your engine starts, you should push your choke in. When you pull out your choke, you close the air going into your carb. Then you push in the choke to allow air to flow through your carb. That lets you speed up or slow down. If it won't run with the choke pushed in, try pushing the choke in slower.

When do you need to use a manual choke on a car?

If the car has fuel injection you cannot use a choke. however if the car has a carburetor without a automatic choke that is when add a manual choke cable to the carburetor choke flap. When you pull the choke flap closed it limits the air flow to the engine allowing for the engine to warm up so so it can atomize the fuel for the engine to run more efficiently. This is important in cold weather you almost always have to use a choke to start the engine.

Why do you have to pull out the choke on morning to start your 1993 Hyundai excel?

To make the engine run richer

Your Honda atc will not run unless on half choke?

Half choke means less air & more gas, So your Fuel to Air mixture is way off. Hope This Helps.

Where is the choke located on 1998 Ford Windstar?

There is NOT a choke on any fuel injected engine. The coolant temperature sensor does the job of what used to be the choke. When the coolant in the engine is cold, the coolant temperature sensor tells the engine control module and it determines how rich or lean to make the engine run. You can use a scanner to see if it and all the other sensors are doing the job they are meant to perform.

How do you start a Weed eater Featherlite?

COLD ENGINE STARTING OR STARTING AFTER REFUELING --Set unit on a flat surface. --Slowly press the primer bulb 6 times. --Move choke lever to FULL CHOKE position. --Squeeze the throttle trigger fully and hold through all remaining steps. --Pull starter rope handle sharply 6 times. --Move choke lever to HALF CHOKE position. --Pull starter rope handle no more than 6 pulls, until engine runs. --Allow engine to run 10 seconds, then move choke lever to OFF CHOKE position. RESTARTING A WARM ENGINE --Move choke lever to OFF CHOKE position. --Pull starter rope handle until engine runs. --If engine does not start in 5 pulls, follow instructions in STARTING A COLD ENGINE.

How do you adjust the choke on Chevy tbi 350?

That year don't HAVE a choke. Is your check engine light on ? If it is, then you need to have the engine scanned with an engine scanner to see what is going on. Problem could be the MAP sensor, coolant sensor, fuel pressure regulator. Any of these problems could be making it run RICH are LEAN. Fuel injection fuel system DID NOT USE A CHOKE.

How do you test a choke diaphragm on a tpi 1987 Chevy 350?

It does not have a choke, the computer richion's the fuel up or leans it out. The coolent sensor reads water temp, If coolent is cold then the engine will run rich just like a choke that's closed does.

How does the choke relay work on a 1981 Toyota corona?

the purpose of the choke relay is to supply power to the choke heater ONLY when the engine is running; otherwise if you left the key in the run position but the engine wasn't running the choke would open up even though the engine wasn't warmed up. then when you tried to start it, it wouldn't start because no choke. the control circuit for the relay usually comes off of the back of the alternator triad winding (alternator not turning=engine not running). without looking at a wiring diagram i can't tell you the details of the wiring but that's the idea of it- engine running turns relay on and sends power to choke heater and slowly opens up choke; key on but engine not running means relay is off and no power to choke heater. if the relay is not working, then no power will go to choke heater and the choke will stay on too long (or if ambient temps. are low it may stay on all the time). fast idle will stay on also as it is hooked up to choke linkage.

Can a engine run without a transmission?

You can run an engine in/out of a car without a transmission. Car wont move and engine wont be mounted properly. So i suggest not to run an engine without a transmission unless you know what you are doing.
