well depanding on ther truck if you have a Ford with a starter solenoid on the pass firewall when you try to start it with the key it should make a click sound if not you have a bad starter solenoid if a Chevy and your jumping it from the starter it self you have a bad solenoids i would replace it Chevy you can some times buy the solenoid it self but i would buy a new starter just in case
try replacing the alternator
Yes, a car battery can explode if jumped improperly. Car batteries contain sulfuric acid that can produce gasses. If a spark ignites the gases the battery can explode like a bomb.
You need a new battery.
check to see if the alternator is working properly or maybe an alternator wire came loose with the new battery installation.
needs a new battery
If it was your car that has been "jumped" then the energy went from your "friends" battery to yours. Your friends battery lost some charge, whilst yours gained some charge. Once the cables were detached - no energy was transferred. No, as long as you do not have the blower motor running.
Sounds like the battery needs to be replaced if it is old or the connection to the battery is lose and needs tightening. Is there corrosion around the circular connectors on top of the battery? If so, clean it off and consider replacing them if needed. That's my best guess.
because the battery is dead.
starter, solonoid, ignition, battery. if it clicks when you turn the key then the battery is really dead or its the starter the battery could still be jumped if its the battery.
The battery is dieing down and you should go and get a new battery or get your battery charged
Are your battery cable connections clean and tight ?
I am no mechanic, however this is a 2 part fix. First the battery is shot, so replacing this is one part. The next is a little more complicated. You should take your vehicle to autozone or somwhere similar and get the alternator checked out. It sounds like this may need replacing as well. Like I said start with the battery, as this is the cheapest, but get the alternator checked out as well, or you would just waste the money on blowing another battery if the alternator is the problem. Best of luck!
