You're batter may be slowly dying . It could be you're alternator that is draining it. Or you're starter may be going. I would start with the starter.
the engine wont start unless you have the immobalizer key
The ignition switch.
I have the same car. Mine doesn't start sometimes. It does not start after I have driven for ten minutes or so and stopped and turned off the engine for about 25 minutes. It will start immediately after it is turned off or ten minutes later, but not 30 minutes later. I have to wait about an hour or longer for it to start again. If I turn off the engine, then run back to the car every ten or fifteen minutes to start it, it is fine. I also think it will start if I turn on the ignition for 30 seconds or so before I crank it.
you may have a short in the ignition swith get test checked, a steering column specialist can do this in a couple of minutes
turn ignition on leave it on for 10 minutes then switch ignition off then you start the car
I have a 2002 tb and my understanding if the ignition is punched the vehicle will not start, unless the person has the key no it can not unless it is towed.
Wait for the fuel to evaporate for a couple of minutes before trying to start it.
I had a car that did that and in its case it was the ignition module. It would work fine when cold but fail when it got hot. It hasn't stalled since I put on the new ignition module.
If the alarm is activated, use the key to open the door. Put the key in the ignition. Leave it there for about 15-20 minutes, at least 15 though. The car will keep honking a couple of times, but this method works. After 15 minutes try to start the car, it should work if it does not start, count and extra 5 minutes to make it 20. Just turn the car to "on" for 30 seconds, then start the car up.
i would change the electrical part of your ignition switch- i would change the electrical part of your ignition switch-
If it is the 7.3L diesel .I would check the crank sensor.
You likely need a new ignition coilpack. I had this happen with mine also.
