The bulb could have blown, check and see if it's not then you probaly have problem with the wires that connect to it. To check these just remove the plastic cover in the back and check the wires that connect to the light.
with the park lights on both left and right side are lite. but when the brake is applied the right brake lights up and the left goes out(doesn't light up)
The left brake light works the right brake light doesn't and the bulbs is good
A third brake light is used to provide a deceleration warning to vehicles that can't see the left and right lights. You can learn more about these brake lights at the Wikipedia.
The fuse for the left brake light is # 5 and the right and 3rd brake light fuse is # 17 in the fascia fuse box
i have conected the black and red wire to the brake and it works (the brake light that is) and i conected the blue and white to the signal lights each wire being left and right signal and it all works. but when i brake all of the light lights up the red bar for the brake and the orage bars left and right when i signal left or right whiles braking the signal works but the other signal light sticks on with the brake light. so if any one as any idears please let me know thanks
If all the fuses are good, then most likely the brake light switch right on the brake pedal inside the car. Check that.
First you buy a good-quality 3rd brake light kit appropriate for the mounting angle on your particular car -- see the links below for examples. If your car's left and right brake lights are separate from the left and right rear turn signals (different bulbs for the brake lights and turn signals), then you just follow the instructions with the kit. If your car has combination brake/turn lights (the same red light burns steadily for brake light or flashes for turn signal) then you must run a new wire from the brake light switch to the rear of the car to feed the new 3rd brake light -- cars with combination brake/turn lights route power from the brake light switch through the turn signal switch and then from there to the back of the car; if you try to get away without running the new wire, the 3rd brake light won't work properly and you'll backfeed other lighting circuits with random results.
I am having the same trouble. My brake lights work with the light switch for nighttime driving, but only far right brake light works when i pres brake pedal. Reverse lights dont work at all. Turn signals and hazard light work.
Check the ground wire. You have a bad connection somewhere.
Where is right brake light fuse on a 1999 Mercedes E320? Thank you.
Brake and parking lights? Are you sure, the two aren't interconnected. Maybe it's just the brake light. If so, sounds like a bad brake light switch. If you step on the brakes and the brake and parking (sometimes called running lights) lights come on it sounds like you have a real problem. Suggest you have it checked right away.
you need to repair the lights and they will both work and your taillights will work properly
