When you install a new TPS you must calibrate the sensor at .9 volts at closed throttle and 4.5 volts at wide open throttle(WOT). If it is not calibrated the PCM would not know the correct position of the gas pedal.
It is located on the gear shift handle.
Hi, I have the Nissan Altima 2001 too and the overdrive switch in on the gear shifter handle and just below the shift push button.
The " D " with a circle around it ( next to the neutral " N " position ) is the overdrive position . That is the normal position when driving the vehicle , it allows the transmission to shift into the fourth gear ( an overdrive gear ) when you are crusing at a higher speed . When it shifts into overdrive your engine won't rev as high , your gas mileage will be better etcetera
Triton Energy Limited ended in 2001.
On most of the newer transmissions a electric selonoid is what engages and disengages overdrive and if you havent noticed there is a button on the end of the shift lever on the steering column also there is a fuse have you checked to see if it is blown.
King Triton's Carousel of the Sea was created in 2001.
If this is an automatic transmission on your 2001 Ford Explorer Sport : Overdrive is the normally allowed position It won't shift into overdrive ( " top gear " ) until the speed is higher such as on the highway / freeway ( my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT is around 50 MPH / 80 KPH before it will show a decrease in engine RPM on the tachometer ) If you don't want it to shift into overdrive then use the switch on the end of your gear selector lever ( P R N etcetera ) and then O/D OFF will light up in your gauge cluster ( when your towing something or if you are driving in hilly country and the transmission is constantly shifting from overdrive to drive )
Overdrive is the normally allowed position It won't shift into overdrive until the speed is higher anyway ( such as on the highway / freeway ) If you are towing something , or are driving in hilly country where the transmission is constantly shifting between overdrive and drive , you want to switch the overdrive off using the switch on the end of your gear selector lever ( P R N etcetera , the O/D OFF light will appear in your dash )
In the 2001 Ford Excursion the V10 is rated at 310 horsepower
That car is equipped with a 4R70W electronic automatic transmission through the 2005 model year, and the Overdrive OFF switch is on the end of the shift lever. Push it in to disable Overdrive, and again to re-enable Overdrive. This feature is typically only used when towing or in very hilly or mountainous terrain that would cause the transmission to "hunt" between Third and Fourth gear a lot.
Overdrive is the normally allowed position It won't shift into overdrive until the speed is faster anyway ( on my Ford EXPLORER I have to be doing around 50 miles per hour ) If you are towing something or driving in hilly country where the transmission is constantly down shifting then you want to turn the overdrive off and the OFF light will appear in the end of your gear selector lever
You need a new transmision, your gears are shot.
