- When a young woman has to ask a male if she is cute or pretty it gives the impression to the male involved that she is either not confident in herself, but most like vain (stuck on herself) even if she isn't. People wait for compliments and do not ask for them. If you are worried you are not cute enough then you could have said, 'I have problems getting a boyfriend and do you think it's because I'm not cute enough?' By asking that question your best male friend knows you are sad over the situation and is more likely to give you an answer.
