You must drain the transaxle-(transmission). Then remove the back plate on the trans axle (located on the back side of the section where the axles go in) with this plate removed you will see a large ring gear on the left,----- in the center of this opening there are two smaller gears the axle ends are going though them. Put a large flat screwdriver in there one side against the end of the axle the other side against a large pin in the center hit the end of the screwdriver with the palm of your hand to get it in there good and pry the axle out (this won't be very much pressure ) repeat for the other axle. Note!!!!!!!---on manual tansaxles only remove one axle at a time. Do not take them both out at the same time gears will fall into trans.
It sounds like you need to add transmissino fluid. It could also be a vacuum line that has come loose from the transmission.
If the support bushing has galled up, it can lock the axle in place. This will be obvious once you get it out. It can be forced out by driving a ball joint wedge or similar tool between the CV housing and the transmission. Be aware that this will damage the transmission case. If the bushing is actually torn up, you will most likely be looking at replacing the transmission, since you will have to remove it for repair anyway.
To replace the axle on a 1993 Honda Civic the axle nut has to come off. The hub assembly also will need to be pulled back so the axle can be pulled from the transmission.
check brake fluid level under hood probaly low
hit it with a hammer done a few of them only thing holding them on is them four bolts get them out beat it off with a hammer
they make a fork to put in between the transmission and the cv axle that attaches to a slide hammer, supporting the cv axle and using the slide hammer the axle should pop out (note I have seen the fork damage the housing of the cv axle if it is a very stumbern fit).
manual transmissions dont come with dip sticks. the only way to check them is to find its fill port. it will be up from you drain port.
Bad inner CV joint?
Most times the speed sensor on the transmission has went bad and a new one can be had from your local parts store for about 35 dollars and takes only minutes to change. On the W250 it is on the drivers side of the transfer case.
take the nut off of the axle disconect the ball joint and pop it out tap the axle out of the hub and u got to pry the other end out of the transmission it could be tricky but that's how it comes out and watch for trans fluid cause it would come out of the tranny
After you remove the Transmission oil pan. Just twist back and forth and push it out at the same time. I should come of.
