INJECTORS DO NOT HAVE ACCELERATOR PUMPS ON THEM. The throttle sensor only reads closed or WOT.

could be a number of things but most likely is the TPS or fuel injector

You can prevent fuel injection flooding by not pumping the gas pedal when trying to start the engine. Fuel injection systems do not need any additional fuel when starting the engine.
Many cars require you to press the gas pedal when starting the car. It's quite normal.
If you have EFI, electronic Fuel Injection, pumping the pedal will do little good because there in no "pump" to pump fuel into the intake, as with a carburetor. Punctuation sometime helps. Using 'texting' style communicates information poorly.

On my 2002 wrangler you have to put a fuse in the fuse box behind the glove box. I think it says transmission but this will allow you to start the Jeep without having to push in the clutch.
This is a fuel injected vehicle. if you touch the gas pedal to start it you could flood it. Maybe your wife starts it without touching gas pedal.
Replace the fuel filter, and check the fuel pump for proper operation.
