The Security light "on" means that your VATS, or vehicle anti theft system is in operation. therefore, to deter theft, it won't start. Usually, putting the key in the door lock and turning it will do the trick.
my secrurity system on my trans am went and you unplug the system and turn the key on the on positon and let it sit for 10 minutes and it will start.
Passlock security system needs repair - gm dealer only as reprograming is part of the fix

That little black chip with the metal contact point in your key has to be in center of key and the contact points should be clean. If security light goes on and car doesn't start don't keep trying to start it, wait about 3 minutes for security light to turn off, and clean the contact points on the chip in the key and you should make sure it is not shifting to one side of the key.
Possibly a security system activation light.
That is normal operation.
Check the door hood and trunk switches. The security system is telling you that it will not set securely.
this vehicle probably has a foctory security system called passlock. to reset it you must place the key in the ignition and try to start the car.leave the switch on weather it starts or not. leave it on for 15 minuts then turn it off for a few seconds and try to start.if it fails to start try again.
its a shift light for a manual trans. means opimum rpm for shifting to higher gear
My 1994 Trans Am does, it will go up to 110. I found out that the top speed of a 1994 Firebird or Trans Am is 156 mph.
