There are several reasons for this issue. There could be a loose connection to one of the battery terminals. There could be a short in the ignition switch. There could also be an issue with an electrical component.

because it is traditionally a very unreliable truck. If i were you i would check it with an engineer and if all is not well sell it.

Just had the same problem with mine...if it will not turn over sometimes then it is your ignition switch. If it does turn over everytime check your stater, starter cylinoid, alternator and battery.
