Why won't my bonneville's back doors open from inside or outside I fixed it once before but don't know how.?

The rear doors have a "rear door child security lock" lever located on the door jam near the door latch (on the door). The small lever can be engaged to prevent children from opening the door or disengaged for normal operation. hope this helps, John A
