Why wont my dirt bike start in gear when the clutch is pulled in but it will start in neutral?

Make sure the sidestand is retracted.

When starting a dirt bike should you hold the clutch?

It all depends on what kind of dirt bike you have. If the clutch isn't a centrifugal clutch, (which means the clutch engages a certain acceleration speed) then usually the bike will force you to be in neutral, and hold in the clutch when starting it. If it is a centrifugal clutch, then usually you only have to be in neutral, since the driver isn't in control of the clutch. hope this helps.

How do pop start a dirt bike?

First put the bike in neutral and push it as fast as you can. Next jump on the bike about half way down the hill' right after you jump on, pull in the clutch, shift into 1st or 2nd gear, let off the clutch, and give the bike a little gas.

Why you start the bike in 1st gear?

if your talking about starting the engine up, its best to crank a bike up in neutral but you can in first if you hold the clutch in if you mean riding the bike if you try to go in say fourth gear the bike is likely to stall

How do you jump start a 2003 Suzuki DRZ400?

You can't kick start it unless you buy an aftermarket kick start. To jump start the bike push it or roll it down the street in 2nd gear clutch pulled in, key turned on and when you start to get out of breath jump on and let go the the clutch. RRRRRRRRRRRR

How do you start dirt bike?

First make sure the bike is in neutral and push kick start down on right side of the bike.

Why does the engine race when the clutch is pulled in?

The revs jump up because when the clutch is pulled in the engine gets disconnected from the wheels. This means that it no longer has to move the weight of the bike and it's driver, so its much easier for the engine to work.

How do you start a Suzuki c90?

You need to put the key in the ignition, turn the ignition on, shift to neutral, turn on engine safety switch, wait for fuel pump to cycle, hold the clutch in, and press the start button. If the bike will not start, it may be your battery.Ê

Suzuki boulevard m90 Motorcycle will not start or go into nurtal?

Well it would be nice to know what you mean by WILL NOT go into neutral, Anyway.................Lets see turn the ignition key on so you have dash lights etc, Jog the bike back and forth gently while trying to shift the gears, what you are looking for is the green neutral light to come on on the dash.If this does not work............ turn the ignition off......... jog the bike GENTLY WITH THE CLUTCH IN AND WHILE THE BIKE IS STILL MOVING A VERY small amount release the clutch.........turn the ignition back on..........................Now pull the clutch in and again attempt to shift the gears and activate the green neutral light. If you cant shift down, shift up, if the green lite blinks you've shifted thru neutral go back the other way. When you get a green light pull the clutch in and start the bike. Other Problems.............. You may have an airlock in the clutch line Take it to dealer and have it bled or get a knowledgable person to help you bleed the line. Is your battery OK. Is your kill switch activated.

Why won't my 1998 Suzuki GSXR 600 start when I put it in first gear?

gixxers have a kick stand safety, so the bike will not start in any gear other than neutral when the kickstand is down. if the kickstand is up then you should be able to start it in any gear with no problem if you pull in the clutch they also have a clutch safety switch.

Do you have to put a motorcycle in neutral when stopping at a red light?

no unless you plan on resting your left hand and not holding the clutch in, then unless you want to look stupid when the bike jumps as you let go of the clutch and it dies, then put it in neutral first.

HOLD THE CLUTCH AND SWITCH 2 1ST GEAR. GIVE THE BIKE A LITTLE GAS AND LET GO OF THE CLUTCH.
