Check on the top of the steering column. There should be a switch. Try putting it in the opposite position and see if that fixes your problem.

There is a switch on top of the steering column dead center. You must have accidently turned it on. It's a parking light.

Those aren't headlights, they're considered running lights or parking lights. I believe that mercury calls this a Light Bar.
