I just had this problem today. AAA came and said that the pegs that the grooves on the key push were stuck. I am not sure what they did. They were using an aerosol looking thing with a long skinny hose attached to it. I think it was some sort of lubricant. They told me it will not likely happen again soon, but if it does I'll need to replace the ignition. They said they charge $300 for replacing the ignition and that they carry the part they needed in the truck. AAA plus (our membership) covers only $100. I have a 2001 Pontiac Aztek.
its either the starter or your ignition
The key is probably jammed into the ignition by the parking brake you put there
turn key over turn key over
because its to cold
Try moving the steering wheel back and forth. Usually the wheel locks itself when the key is out so the holes become misaligned
TRY TURNING THE KEY OVER.
key wont turnthe ignition
Your key could be worn. Try moving your steering wheel while turning the ignition. If the locked steering is in a bind the key will not turn over.
So it would seem. If the ignition is in the column it may also be jammed by the steering wheel lock. Try turning the steering wheel and holding it while turning the ignition key.
the engine wont start unless you have the immobalizer key
This could be a bad ignition switch, ignition relay, or ignition fuse.
