I had to jam something on the release lever inside the door, and go around and manually pull the door open. The cause is that the spring had broken. The catch was being released, but nothing was pushing the door open. I have to buy a new spring and install it once it was open

you pull the hood relase lever inside the car under the steering wheel. it should just pop open partly. then there is a safety release under the hood you have to pinch that and the hood should come open.

If it is one that pops open when you pull a lever inside the car (by the driver's leg, usually), the spring is probably broken. Have someone pull that lever while you open the door (keep the latch unlocked by pulling the lever until you have the door open) and try to find the release mechanism. From there, you should be able to tell if the spring is broken - if so, go to an auto store with that spring in hand to find a new one. ----

The lever came loose. It needs be re-attached. I have had to do that manually and it requires going into the door.

Open the lever halfway. Remove the lever screw, and drop the lever out. Grasp the rear of the bolt, and pull it out the back. Be sure to have the gun on it's left side, so the ejector wont fall out. Then reach inside the ejection port, and lift the ejector out of it's notch. This is as far as you need to take it down for normal cleaning. Spray the internals out, and scrub the bore.

You have to pull the inside door panel off. Once removed, look for the door latch mechanism and pry it with a screwdriver. This will release the door.

The windshield wipers are not automatic... the lever that controls the wipers have three positions and you will have to pull the lever down to the off position. The position below off is for mist. If you pull the lever to that position and let it go, the lever will go back to the off position.

After you pull the inside hood release , go around to the front of the Thunderbird There is a 2nd lever under the front edge of the hood , at the center , push on the right side of the lever as you are slightly pressing down on the hood so the catch releases and then lift the hood until the supports hold it open
