If the car is not in park, it wont release the key. If it is in park, there is a little switch underneath the prndl indicator that is bad, causing the car to not release your key.
It could be thjat it is not in park. If not put it in park it should start right up.
If your battery is dead it wont come out of park. it has a solenoid that has to release ,if battery is dead it wont. hope this helps.
That just happened to me, check if its in park. My truck wouldn't start either when the key was stuck, but it was still in drive. Otherwise are you aware that there is a release button? At the time I can't get my key out now either, but I think its cause I took a hammer to the release button before I realized it was in Drive.
try putting your key into the park lock hole right next to the gear stick. it looks like some kind of key entry. This was my problem, but I jerked mine out of park.
Do you have it in park? I think it wont let you take out the key if it isn't in park. Hope this is of help.
Take it out of reverse.
Move the steering wheel slightly and the key should come out.
The neutral safety switch, release switch, or brake switch is bad.
make sure it is COMPLETY in park. Sometimes it will not release the key unless it is totally "locked" down.
You might have to crawl intoi the trunk thru the back seat to release it..
