That sounds like a transmission problem, it could be a gasket but possibly more work. You might be looking at around $250 of work but sounds like that's all that needs to be done.
What would make a 1899 oldsmobile cutlass ciera start and then die right away?
Cracked distributer cap or fuel pump
I have a 92 cutlass ciera doing that, would run til it got hot, then die...ended up being the crank shaft sensor. hope this helps
fuse
Had the same problem with my 92 cutlass ciera. It turned out to be ac compressor. Probably the clutch.
cracked or broken wiring, blown fuse
you would use 5W-30W have the same car
The Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera a was front wheel drive model. It was sold by General Motors from 1982 to 1996.
If it has spark and fuel I would suspect the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor has failed. If it has no spark, I would suspect the crank sensor has failed. If it has no fuel, I would suspect the fuel pump has failed.
would have 2 say a bad ground..U have the voltage, just not a ---- GOOD ground.
R12 unless it has been retrofitted. I would suggest have it changed, as the cost of R12 is prohibitive.
The best place to find the brake line schematic for a 1995 Cutlass is at a GM dealer. The repair facility would have all of the relevant manuals.
