the most likely reason for this is your battery is no longer capable to hold a charge.... either the acid is no longer good or too low to supplement the charge, or there is a problem with the plates inside the battery, either way you might want to purchase a new battery.... if the battery is fairly new, another problem could be that the "recharging system" for the vehicle is not functioning properly, this could be from a bad alternator or a wire or few could be connected wrong, not connected at all or missing, or the wiring or connection at the battery terminals could be corroded so badly that electricity will not transfer through.... if the problem appears to be corrosion of the terminals, a can of terminal cleaner and a wire brush will alleviate the problem, you should also invest in a can of terminal protectant as well.... if you still cannot solve the problem, have a trustworthy mechanic take a look.

The bearings on one of the pulley driven accessories on the engine are probably bad, or the belt is just loose and the alternator cant charge the battery. When the battery is very low on charge the alternator has to put a heavy load on the engine to produce power and a loose belt might not even turn it fast enough to generate any power.

Not necessarily. Any battery, even a good one, will slowly loose it's charge. Could be that something drained the battery. Clean the battery case and the posts. Slow charge the battery until it is full and then use it. You will soon know if it is good or not.
