A bad fuel pump can cause your 1998 Pontiac Grand Am engine to randomly stop running. The fuel pump might be working at times and then at other times not working.
it usually means that the car is running rich. fuel is not burning off. try taking it in for a diagnostic to see why.
engine light just came on in my g6 2007 code p1174
Depends. An older Diesel is likely to keep running. A modern, with a full set of electronic engine diagnostic might not.
the engine is running checky after starting
195
Key on, engine not running: 53-55 p.s.i....
get a diagnostic scan. even if the check engine light is not on, a code may appear. also, some diagnostic tools can monitor the engine while it is running to get a better idea of how your car is running.
Dead Center at about 190 Degrees
If the engine runs well otherwise (no misfire, no rough running when you take off from a stop sign, runs better when cold) an idle problem is often caused by the EGR valve. If you have any doubts, run an engine diagnostic test to see what the computer has to say. I recently had this problem and just had it fixed it was my mass air flow sensor so check that, but best to get it tested with diagnostic equipment.
A fully charged battery should read approx. 12.8 volts without engine running With engine running should read approx. 13.8-14.2 volts
When the Check Engine Light (CEL) comes on, it means something wrong was detected, either with emissions or performance. When this happens, the computer will have a diagnostic code in memory that can be retrieved with an OBDII scanner. Auto Zone will scan and retrieve the diagnostic codes free of charge.
Just the engine... it will depend on the year and if it is complete in running condition or needs rebuilt.
