Some "experts" claim that animals have a far greater perception of ghosts/spirits than humans do, and that quite often, they'll be staring into space, apparently looking at, "nothing" - yet how do we know what they can see or are aware of? My cat used to sit on the floor in the corner of the room, staring intently at the ceiling corner above her. There was nothing there that I could see. Dogs also have far better hearing than we do, so the hiding under the couch part could be that she's heard something she deemed as scary, while you haven't heard a thing! When my husband and I rescued a puppy from the shelter, one of the first things I bought was one of those laser keyrings for her to chase around the room. After about a week or so of say, 20 mins play each day with this laser, she began to search for the red light everywhere she went, tail wagging like mad, panting and obviously over-excited. It then got to the point where she was going crazy and chasing after everything that moved, including shadows and light reflecting from metal/glass surfaces. I discovered that some breeds of dog are prone to become Obsessive Compulsive, so is there a chance that your dog is merely seeing a reflection on the ceiling (say, from a glass of water somewhere?) and you hadn't noticed it?
The best way to put an end to her behaviour is to distract her at the times when she's "obsessing" at the ceiling. Take her out for a quick walk or play with her with a toy or ball, just something to take her mind off it. == == == == Based on the question alone, my first thought is that your dog may be having seizures. There is a type of seizure that is strictly occular, and does cause your dog to see things. Many dogs snap at the air trying to catch the "flying lights", others simply stare up at them. Very honestly? I would contact your vet - just to be safe and to add this information to your dogs file. See discussion for more info related to this question

"What is the best technique for not getting scared when acting in front of many people?" "How is it that acting stars never get nervous?"

Depends...frequently the trustee or acting offocers.
Centrally acting analgesics work in the central nervous system to block pain signals, while peripherally acting analgesics work at the site of pain to reduce inflammation and block pain signals. Central analgesics include opioids like morphine, while peripheral analgesics include NSAIDs like ibuprofen.
Because sometimes they are nervous or they are embarresed it really depends on what kind of person you are talking about.
The involuntary nervous system that is involved with organ regulation is called the Autonomic nervous system (ANS) and is comprised of the Sympathetic nervous system and the Parasympathetic nervous system.
It regulates heart activity, acting like brakes and accelerators to decrease or increase the heart rate.

Ranofer was acting unusually secretive and mysterious around Heqet. He was avoiding eye contact and seemed nervous whenever Heqet was around, which was uncharacteristic of his usual behavior.
