Compressor with a manual control should only cycle in MAX AC, AC, FLR DEF, or DEF. 1990.5-1991 Explorer: Compressor cycling on and off with control switched to OFF: Since compressor is turning on and off, Pressure cycling switch is working. Suspect either the A/C or DEF switch in control may be arced closed. With truck running and A/C switched to OFF, Light Green / Purple wire from controller should read zero volts. If voltage is present, replace control head. ...If you don't want to buy a new control head, cut Light Green / Purple wire in dash coming from control and place a toggle switch in-line. This will act like the selective "A/C" button on newer cars.
If you have the heat on in the defrost position , the air conditioning compressor will cycle on and off to help dehumidify the air if the outside temperature is about 50 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer
On my 1995 Ford Explorer when the defrost position is selected , and the temperature knob is set in the red area to get heated air to defrost the windshield , the A/C compressor will cycle on and off to help dehumidify the air, but the compressor ONLY cycles on and off in the DEFROST POSITION ( sorry if I'm misinterpretting your question )
I read this on another website, but have not tried it: To program a replacement remote: cycle the ignition switch to the run (not start) position and back to off three times or until the door locks lock and unlock by themselves. Then, right after they do that, with the ignition switch in the run position push the lock or unlock buttons on both remote controls. This should do it. If it doesn't work then you have to go to the dealer. Good luck !
the air conditioning cycle
Cycle the ignition switch on and off several times pausing briefly in the on position. This will prime the fuel system.
Your air conditioner should have a built in thermostat and cycle as necessary. The air conditioner takes a little while to reach peak efficiency. Once the room is cooled it will cycle on and off as necessary. If you manually cycle the air conditioner, you are greatly reducing its efficiency.
Yes, this prevents your air conditioning system from freezing over, similar to a frost free fridge. almost every air conditioning system works like this.
How may the Earth's position in space be related to the cycle of extinctions on earth
Air conditioning is removing hot air with cold air. For example we use air conditioner that removes hot air by blowing cold air from a refrigeration cycle into a room.
my 94 explorer had an anti-theft device and now i must cycle the door locks to the open position with the key fob to get it to start!it also works to remove negative at battery to reset system- then start like usual.
Will vary widely depending on switch type, manufacturer, environmental conditions, current and voltage as well as the duty cycle of the switch.
The low pressure switch is usually on either the h valve, accumulator, or in the suction line.
