The most likely cause of this problem is that the computer has been changed and the security system is shutting it down. If this is not the case then possibly the ignition switch has been changed and the key coding is not a correct match for the computer.
actually most 1980s firebird came out with a v6 2.8 liter or a 3.1 liter so they dont consume to much gas it would prly get around 23 miles to the gallon
It turned out to be the crank sensor.
Because when you change the ignition in a firebird you have to use the same key and key lock that was on the original column. If you don
you need a new alternator.
unless you are a master welder and fabricater no it will not fit. if you want to spend 20 to 30 thousand bucks then it can fit
Try changing the oils the relate to the spudder and idle. Then try and time it.
It would depend on the year for example a good condition but used 1997 firebird would go for about 7 to 8 thousand.
i would start by checking your distributor and voltage regulator
I would start off by checking the crank shaft sensor when this sensor goes out the plugs will not fire.
distributor timing most likely On my 1998 firebird -- I had a similar problem, it turned out to be one of the vacuum hoses came off of the intake manifold -- I would visually check all of those first.
If it remained inflated then you would have difficulty getting out.
I would say that I am available to start immediately.
