The check engine light only comes on if there's a problem with suction (i.e. you filled the gas tank with the car running or left the gas cap open and drove. You can't reset it, you have to unhook the battery. If it comes on again, unhook the battery again. If it comes on a 3rd time, I'd see the dealer.
have you checked the alternator??? that's the first thing that comes to my mind if your battery is being drained
usually means that the alternator is not charging. So the battery is being drained.
A dead battery or a battery that has been drained.
A battery cannot be drained by a shorted diode when the ignition key is off.
dead cell in the battery or something is on that is pulling power from the battery.
Just let the computer run on battery power until its completely drained, then recharge it fully. This is called a "recalibration" and can increase battery performance. However, if you want to completely "extend" battery life, you could just get an external source, like a case with an extended battery, a device to charge gadgets anywhere you go, etc etc.
It means all the electricity has been removed from the battery.
Rechargeable batteries usually last 300 to 500 cycles which is when a battery is at 100%, then is drained to 0% and charged again. Even if you do not drain it completely and recharge the battery, it is still considered a cycle.
when the electronics quit working.
When the alternator goes bad or goes out completely, the car's battery will be drained. I suggest you pull the alternator and have it tested. If the alternator is bad, you will most likely need a new battery as well. The cost is around $200.00.
the positive wire that recharges the battery after being drained from the starter
Charge it, with the charger that came with it.
