That depends, automatic transmission or manual?
Automatic: low fluid, failed/worn hydraulic pump, failed/worn valve body, worn internal clutch pack...
Manual: worn clutch. Note that some might try to tell you that it could be a component of the hydraulic clutch mechanism, but if that were the case, you wouldn't be able to put the transmission in gear.
if you mean it wont move, perhaps you have drained the transmission oil and not the engine oil. this would cause it not to move.
Yes, for example you would want to move a gear so you would pull on one side of the pulley and it could get where you want it to get.
give more detail in the question what model grand prix... what gear are you talking about - i can fix broken but not stupid
It means... it would suck to be you.
May be you didn't change your gear. Hahaha :))
Move the car. If the fan belt moves, it's still in gear. Also would be fairly hard to move if in gear.
Move the car at a walking pace, put the gearbox into neutral and move the high/ low stick from low to high.
Are you saying that the gear shifter will not move from park to drive or that when you shift to drive the vehicle will not move? We need more info.
is this moving when mobile , over bumps? check engine mounts, gear box mounts and also check that clutch slave cylander is secure and not loose
truck start shift is hard to move in gear
Saturn's rings are made up of many small objects, rock and ice, that are in orbit around Saturn. Because all the object move, the rings can be said to move.
There SHOULD be a switch on the brake pedal that disengages the gear shift locking solenoid. Once you press on the brake pedal, the gear shift should move easily. If not, either the switch or solenoid has failed, or one of them is out of adjustment.
