Yes. If they boiled the water and filtered it in order to remove the salt content, they could survive on it, but salt water straight from the sea dehydrates you rather quickly, due to the high salt content.

Seawater is too hypertonic for people. They will die because of dehydration due to the high level of salt in sea water. The cells dehydrate from losing to much water. First they will get sick then they will die.

they will die faster because they will dehydrate faster and if they have to much salt their lungs can't expand verywell and that cases them to die
