Why would a slave be let free?

Slaves should have been let free because we deserved to be let free they as in the whites needed to know they wernt the only ones with souls we also had souls and still do to this day and rasest is still going on to this day and yes i am a black teenage girl and i love uncolord and colored people and no one deserved to be call black whit cajion Egyptian Asian and black people aret black and and whit people.arnt white but their are lots of reasons slaves should be free to have life and to once and for all get alone we are all human beings

Slaves, not just in the United States, but all over the Americas, were found mostly on the plantations. Slaves, to be brutally honest, made living easier for their owner. When the US was first founded, the SLAVE TRADE was forbidden. However, slaves were allowed to come over with their owners. George Washington, in his will, called for the manumission of his slaves upon the death of his wife. In the 1800s, slaves served the same purpose, although the trade was permitted.

In the 1800s, Slaves generally were not freed. If they were freed, it was because they were horrible at what they did, the family no longer needed them, or they were too old to be of any more use. It wasn't until 1863 that slaves were truly freed to free.
