Battery may have been weak the previous day and when trying to start created excessive heat through the starter solenoid causing it to "weld" in the closed postion. When charged battery was installed solenoid was already in closed position. May release itself or solenoid may have to be replaced
Wires connected to the starter incorrectly or defective ignition switch.
or, you need a new starter celiniod* i dont see how you could of switched sides of the celiniod when u only replaced the starter *spelling error, i know
I am currently having the same issue. First unhook the battery completely. Then you need to find where the wires on the starter are connected to the battery. Detach the wires from the starter that go to the battery. Once you have the starter wires completely detached from battery you can start removal of starter from engine block.
Look for a bad connection to the starter selenoid or battery.
Loose cables, bad battery, alternator or starter.
It could be a loose battery terminal or dead battery! A faulty starter solenoid/relay will often only click once when tryong to start the vehicle.
There is no battery in the starter.
the wiring from my battery to my starter had a short that's what the problem was, thanks anyways
The function of a battery is to provide electrical energy to devices which are connected to it.
this should be pretty easy. 1st disconnect the battery. Next losene the bolts holding the start (I think there are just 3). disconnext the wires connected to the starter. reverse this to install. Be sure to check the starter relay (soloniod) on the inside fender well. Now is a good time to repalce it, and they are not expensive.
It sounds like the starter solenoid is bad.
Seized engine? Weak or dead battery? Loose or corroded battery cables? Bad starter solenoid? Bad starter? Bad clutch or neutral safety switch?
