There are no prohibitions of which I am aware in any parts of the Bible which prevent two unmarried people from fulfilling their natural desires, as long as the possible consequences are taken into account. Contraception was unavailable in the time of Jesus, and he said nothing about the subject. Had it been widely available, he may have done, but trying to guess what he *would* have said isn't a fruitful excerise.
Likewise, masturbation is condemned by many Christians because of the Old Testament verses regarding Onan - whose sin was not masturbation, but his deliberate failure to impregnate his older brother's widow - thus denying his brother's estate a male heir. To the best of my knowledge, the scriptures remain silent on sex before marriage.
In short: why would a true Christian persue a chaste courtship? Because they choose to. It may be the course of action they feel most comfortable with. If they don't feel comfortable with it, then somebody else has probably told them that it's wrong to do otherwise, and persuaded them so.
Research the question yourself, read around the subject, taking all views into consideration, and make up your own mind. There are pros and cons to both approaches.
Disclaimer: this answer was provided by an atheist, who has read around the subject a *lot*, and debated fundamental Christians a *lot*. During the course of the research and the debates, I have not encountered a single shred of evidence that did not rely on a broad interpretaion (to say the least) of the writings in question.
Simple...because values is in highest regard. Isn't mentioned that our body is God's temple and that it should be respected. No, this is isn't hypocrisy and no one's forcing any one to comply, just an answer to a question.
That would depend on the particular interests of the couple. If they are interested in keeping their courtship chaste, they might read some of Paul's writings; like Galatians chapter 5 & 6; or Ephesians chapter 5; or Romans 8
Romeo may be pining for Rosaline, but Rosaline doesn't care about him. He is "out of her favour, where he is in love." Some people interpret the line "then she hath sworn that she will still live chaste" to mean that she is becoming a nun, and so will not ever go out with him. However, this is a misunderstanding. She is chaste now and has sworn that she will remain so for now. She will "still live chaste" not "forever live chaste". If Rosaline were a nun it would be an outrage to pursue her amourously which is exactly what Romeo is going to the Capulet party to do. To see what kind of outrage, check out Shakespeare's play Measure for Measure.
Sadako would translate as "Chaste Child" "Sada" meaning chaste, and Ko meaning child. 貞 = Sada 子 = Ko
If it is free of sin, yes. But courtship is ideally Biblical. I would google courtship and see the main differences.
A teenage girl who subscribes to Christianity, would certainly keep herself 'chaste'; as would a teenage Christian boy. They would be involved, if not immersed in the Christian ministry; volunteering to help other people to also live by the righteous morals of the Bible, in immitation of their Savior Christ Jesus. I would describe a Christian teenage girl as being a kind and helpful person; respectful of others. She would 'love' people, as did Christ Jesus. She would be 'selfless'. She would respect her parents; and seek their wise guidance thru life.
A disadvantage of courtship would be that you have an idea of marriage in mind, so for those people who don't like the idea of commitment, it wouldn't be so comfortable for them to court. I can't see any real disadvantages with courtship.
I would describe her as a beautiful middle aged woman. She would be chaste and very maternal.
yes
asking a person to "go out with" them would refer to being seen in public together, which would imply a courtship or romance
As a general rule the Duggar children are not dating anyone . The Duggar family discourages casual dating and encourages their children to pursue potential mates following a courtship model. While courtship follows the same general footprint, they also acknowledge that every relationship is different and they want each couple to openly discuss the limits they will put in place during courtship as they spend time together and evaluate their fitness for marriage. At that point, they will date, but it would be under supervision and guidance of their family and friends. As of April 2015, there is one Duggar son who is courting...Josiah. If his older sibilings are courting, it is not public information at this time
The Puritans were a whole lot more stickter! In our day time we usually go to jail for life over murder. The puritans would kill people for commiting adultrey or something as simple as that.
This would be up the the individual, all will have a different thought on this depending on you denomination and how closely you walk with the Lord. Have a Christian be a chaperoned on a date. Note: In other words: Obey the God, do what is right, be holy because you God is Holy. In more simple terms, do not sin.
