Why would a vehicle not start after being driven daily and running fine 2002 ford ranger edge v6 engine turns over fine but does not even try to start?

When you open the hood does your underhood light come on ? or if you have the
key in the ignition with the drivers door open do you hear the chime ?
If not , it sounds like a poor battery cable connection or a dead battery / dead cell
in battery ( you don't mention if the engine cranks )
