When you open the hood does your underhood light come on ? or if you have the
key in the ignition with the drivers door open do you hear the chime ?
If not , it sounds like a poor battery cable connection or a dead battery / dead cell
in battery ( you don't mention if the engine cranks )
Check the engine RPM. If the engine is running too fast when you put it into drive, it will cause the vehicle to jump.
