it could be the ac evaporator under the dash, it might be clogged its like a radiator the blower motor pushes air through it where the air gets cool

my '94 grand 'kee has a similar problem. The warning tone comes on and STAYS ON, even though the dashboard diagnostic display doesnt show anything is wrong. It will cut out intermittently, and then quit for no reason after about 20 minutes. Drives my wife nuts. ( I drive a Ford Ranger lol)
