Circuit breakers are in place to prevent an over-current condition. When too much current is passed through a wire, it overheats and can result in fire.

The circuit breaker is just doing its job when it turns off a circuit in that kind of condition. Too many appliances running simply means too much current on a circuit.

Do you need electricity to run a diesel engine?

No. Iginition in a Diesel engine comes from compression and not spark. Once the Diesel engine is running you do not need electricitry to keep it running. However, modern diesel engines have computers controlling many of the functions of the engine and that would cause it to fail if there was no electricity. Old diesel engines did not have computers and would keep running even if your battry went flat because your alternator died. Just dont turn it off because the starter needs electricity :P

How do we use electricity?

We use electricity in many home appliances such as toasters, TV, stove, oven etc. Without electricity, we wouldn't have much fun and we'd have to cook on logs like the pioneers! We use electricity in many things in our homes: electric lights, home appliances such as toaster, microwave, fridge, tv, washer, dryer, etc. Also we use electricity in our cars (and trucks) which need the electricity stored in on-board batteries. The battery is used to supply electricity to the starter motor which first makes the engine turn so that it can run on its own fuel (gas or diesel). Electricity is then used to recharge the battery, to drive the fuel pumps - which supply the engine with more fuel from the fuel tank - to power the lights, etc.

How is electricity misused?

Turn off your TV when you leave the room as well as the lights. If you're going to do something "quickly" it usually won't be as quick as you expect so turn off any appliances that are on. If possible, unplug some appliances because even if they're off, they still train little to nothing of electricity if they're plugged in. Get energy efficient light-bulbs and products. Also use as little appliances as possible, especially if you're using more than one. It's either this or that. :D
